Welcome to Hey Girl Productions & Storyboard Creations, where creativity meets narrative excellence. Led by Edna Hudson Stewart, a multidisciplinary artist, published author, songwriter, and filmmaker based in Hubert, NC, our studio is dedicated to visual storytelling, art commissions, and independent publishing. With four decades of experience, we focus on three foundational pillars: imaginative world-building, vibrant storytelling through immersive design, and inspiring our audience to embrace their own journeys. Following a significant setback, I enrolled in the Art Instruction School’s structured curriculum and completed programs through the Art Institute and other degree-granting institutions. I pursued this education not as a hobby, but as a deliberate process of cognitive recovery. Through that experience, I came to understand that art is not merely decorative; it is transformative.
I am Edna Hudson Stewart, founder of Hey Girl Productions and Storyboard Creations, a creative studio based in Hubert, North Carolina. Built on more than four decades of self-directed practice, my work encompasses visual art, storyboarding, narrative fiction, songwriting, and film. Whether I am creating a painting on birch board or developing a film storyboard, my objective remains the same: to tell meaningful stories with honesty and care.
Each commission is a collaborative and personal undertaking. A client who requests a painting is not simply purchasing a product; they are entrusting me to create an original work tailored to their space, informed by their vision, and designed to endure beyond temporary trends. For this reason, I primarily work by referral, accept projects selectively, and communicate directly with clients before beginning any piece.
My current major project is *Quiet Strength*, a visual historiography preserving the lived experiences of the Beirut Veterans of 1/8 and 3/8 Marines. This evolving archive is the project of which I am most proud.
Between 2018 and 2024, I survived several additional life-threatening events. I returned to the studio and continued creating. That experience reflects my enduring belief in the power of art, perseverance, and purposeful work.
