The Project Overview

Shadow of the Magnum is a soulful, 35mm-grain thriller set against the neon and asphalt of the mid-1980s South. It follows Vera Sterling as she navigates a labyrinth of "burned" military records, family betrayals, and the clandestine legacy of her father, Eli Sterling.​​

"Why I Write This"

​"I write this to honor the man in the pristine bus driver’s cap—the man with the decorative pins and the Aboriginal heart. Using fictional names like Eli and Gideon Sterling allows me to tell the truth about the $500,000 'Ghost Fund,' the 'Daytona Run,' and the 'Warden’s Call' in a way that the official records never could. This is the story of a bloodline that could wrestle bulls and outrun shadows."
